A Literacy Enrichment Program

Eligible students live in or attend school in Newark or Irvington.

Write on Sports has partnered with Newark Public Schools (NPS) to provide the Write on Sports afterschool program to selected schools. The current cycle will be at the following schools:

Abington Avenue School
First Ave School
Harriet Tubman School
Camden Street School

Leadership

Andy Beutel

Education Program Director/Newark After School Director

Andy Beutel has been working with Write on Sports since 2007. As the Assistant Program Director of WoS, he helps update and adapt the curriculum as well as provide consultation and feedback for after-school programs and affiliates. He is also the Lead Teacher for the two summer camps held at Montclair State University. He is a veteran middle school social studies teacher who has written and presented about curriculum and pedagogy.
