New Jersey After School

Write on Sports

A Community Effort

Eligible students live in or attend school in Newark or Irvington.

The Prudential Center and St. Benedict’s Prep have been a long-time partner with WoS and provide the facilities for hosting Summer sports writing camps. These locations have limited space and priority is given to students from the city of Newark and neighboring communities including Irvington, however, if this location is preferred for interested students, please contact us to be considered.

WoS has partnered with Newark Public Schools (NPS) to provide the WoS Afterschool program to selected schools. The initial cycle will be at the following schools:

  • Abington Avenue School
  • Benjamin Franklin School
  • Dr. William H. Horton School
  • First Ave School
  • Park Elementary School
  • Ridge Street School

If your school is not listed but is interested in a WoS Afterschool program, please contact us.

“When I was a student at Write on Sports, I gained a lot from it. As an adult, I still use some of the principals that I learned from Write on Sports.”
